It's the most wonderful time of the year at eTown, and local families are looking for ways to maximize this holiday season. We've pulled together some of our favorite shows, events, and activities to help you get into the spirit of Christmas this year!
**Lights, Lights, & More ****Lights! **
Named one of the “Top 10 Places to See Holiday Lights” by *National Geographic*, St. Augustine’s [Nights of Lights](https://www.visitstaugustine.com/event/nights-lights) begins Saturday, November 23, and runs through February 2, 2020. The lights can be enjoyed on foot, trolley, train, horse-drawn carriage, or even aboard a boat. This is one attraction you don’t want to miss.
Enjoy the magic of driving through a mile of holiday lights that are perfectly synchronized to holiday music with [Jax Illuminations Drive-Thru Holiday Light Show](https://jaxilluminations.com/). Families can see a MILLION brilliant LED lights that dance, twinkle and sparkle to some of your favorite holiday songs. Open November 21st, 2019 - January 4th, 2020.
Experience the magic at the Jacksonville Zoo & Gardens[ 2019 ZOOLights](https://zoolights.jacksonvillezoo.org/). eTown residents can enjoy nightly visits from Santa, children's activities, local artists and performers, as well as witnessing the Zoo transform into a winter wonderland at night!
**Head to the Theater**
Nothing screams Christmas Tradition like seeing [The Nutcracker](https://floridatheatre.com/events/). eTown residents can grab some friends and head downtown to the [Florida Theater](https://floridatheatre.com/) to see the 28th annual community production of the Nutcracker! This beloved Christmas play will run December 13-14th.
[Rudolph - The Musical](https://floridatheatre.com/event/rudolph-the-red-nosed-reindeer-the-musical-3/) will also be coming to the Florida Theater for one night only on December 20th. Based on the original TV special, this family Broadway musical brings Santa, Mrs. Claus, Hermey the Elf, Bumble the Abominable Snow Monster, Clarice, Yukon Cornelius, the Misfit Toys and, of course, Rudolph to life!
**Fun Runs**
Looking for ways to take a break from cookie exchanges, gingerbread house-making contests, and alllll the eggnog? Sign up for[ The Fesitval of Lights 5k](http://www.1stplacesports.com/races/fol/) this year in San Marco Square on December 14th! Luminaries will light up the streets of beautiful San Marco as runners take off during this holiday-themed race.
Combining running and eating chocolate into one sweet race, Heritage Landing at World Golf Village is hosting the [**Chocolate 5k Race**](https://www.facebook.com/events/heritage-landing-at-world-golf-village/chocolate-5k-race-/413649496014003/) on December 28th at 9am. All Participants will get a Florida Race Day ceramic coffee mug, package of Swiss Miss Hot Chocolate and chocolate finishers medals. What's not to love?!
**Holiday Parades and Festivals**
The event of the season is returning to Whitey's Fish Camp in Fleming Island for the [17th Annual Light Boat Parade](https://jacksonvillemom.com/event/whiteys-17th-annual-light-boat-parade-whiteys-fish-camp/). This free event will feature a silent auction and cash prizes, with all proceeds benefiting Safe Animal Shelter. 
[WinterFEST](https://jacksonville-beach.adventurelanding.com/winterfest/) at Adventure Landing is a Christmas Event that you won't want to miss. From Ice-sliding and Skating to Smore's and Santa, there is something for everyone at WinterFEST! Scheduled from November 22nd through January 6th, this event will run on select days during select times, so be sure to check out their [calendar](https://jacksonville-beach.adventurelanding.com/content/uploads/sites/2/2019/11/WinterFEST-Calendar-2019-2020-1.pdf) before heading out.
