Business partners Dr. Carlos Aragon and Dr. Brad Mackenzie are bringing their Allied Veterinary Specialists brand to Jacksonville with a 24/7 animal emergency and specialty hospital coming to [The Exchange at eTown](https://www.etownjax.com/the-exchange).
The team is set to break ground this Friday, June 20, on the 16,044-square-foot, single-story facility located at 11245 Bold City St. on the southwest side of The Exchange. The state-of-the-art hospital is expected to open in spring 2026.
What sets this facility apart is its ability to provide comprehensive, around-the-clock specialized care all under one roof. Rather than referring pets to outside facilities for advanced treatments, Aragon explained, they can handle every need in-house.
“We want to be the Mayo for veterinary medicine, essentially,” he said.
For Allied Veterinary Specialists, the goal is to fill a gap in the local market by providing private, specialty-focused veterinary care.
